Peter Maddox

President, Direct Sellers Association of Canada

Peter has served as the President of DSA Canada since 2018. As President, he is passionate about promoting the growing positive impact that direct selling has on Canadian individuals and communities, as well as ensuring that the Association remains an influential representative of its member companies. His role at DSA involves managing files as diverse as strategic planning, government relations, regulatory affairs, media relations, member engagement and being the public face of the organization.

 Peter has extensive experience with associations and in marketing roles, having previously held positions with the Canadian Propane Association and Canadian Tire Corporation. Originally from Australia, Peter has worked for both the Australian Professional Engineers Association (now Professionals Australia) and the Australian Pharmacy Guild. He has an MBA from Chifley Business School and a Marketing Degree from the University of Tasmania, and is currently studying to become Certified Association Executive.

Helena is a mother of 4 and a lifelong entrepreneur.  Family is first and foremost in her world. She knows her best life lessons have come from building a thriving marriage and being a hands on mother for over 25 years. Her experience extends from opening a restaurant at the age of 21 and then a spa at 26.  Although both experiences were fantastic, her favourite opportunity has been building her social marketing business. 

She is a leader in her industry and passionate about empowering women to elevate their lives and truly love this life they have been gifted.   This past decade has given her a bigger life purpose, more passion; while making her feel confident and excited about life. She believes when women work together and lift each other, we can change the world.

Independent Sales Director Kareena Felker-Dear has been working her Mary Kay business for 16 years.  After watching her mother’s 40 year career with Mary Kay, she knew that this would be the perfect side hustle to work alongside a fashion photography career.  Low and behold Mary Kay became a full-time career during the 2008 recession and now a life-long career. 

Kareena has earned the use of 9 Mary Kay career cars and is currently driving the coveted Mary Kay Pink Cadillac.  Her unit has ranked as a top unit in the Nation achieving over $600,000 in unit retail sales in a single year and she has earned the Top director trip to Barcelona as well as a cruise to the Bahamas.  She has completed her company’s sharing court and the selling court 10x.  To this day her most cherished achievement is being voted the 2016 The Go-Give Award recipient.  This is awarded to one sales director for ethics, enthusiasm and serving others without expectation on return and considered the highest honour in Mary Kay. Kareena is married to Benjamin and is the proud mama to two young girls.

Amy Ballantyne is an accredited Wellness & Life Coach, a speaker and author. As a coach she supports clients who want to shift limiting beliefs, patterns and stories, improve wellness habits, reduce stress and create the life they truly desire. Her process is focused on accountability, empathy and support.

Her product partnership with USANA Health Sciences for the last 14 years has been an integral part of her business. As a Gold Director within the organization, Amy has had the opportunity to share her passion for these incredible, premium level wellness products with clients and on training stages internationally. As a speaker she brings her energy, passion and knowledge to every webinar or stage to help the audience connect with the information in such a way that they leave feeling inspired, informed and primed to take action! She has shared wellness webinars for companies across Canada including Ernst & Young, Star Metroland Media, Vidyard, SunLife, Manulife and more.

As an author Amy is a recent Amazon Best Seller as a co-author for the compilation book Business Life & the Universe Volume 6. She has also published Mr. Poop Knows Poop (a digestive health book for parents and kids) and a youth empowerment series for girls called Diary of a Softball Girl. Wellness is so much more than eating and exercise. Taking a holistic approach to well-being is how Amy supports her clients.
